I like to believe that I am a designer and a maker in equal parts. In 2018, I established my jewelry brand, Jane Bartel Jewelry, in New York,
where my native West Coast casual meets the city’s chic. With an inherent affinity for nature, my contemporary collections
reimagine both everyday and heirloom pieces inspired primarily by the organic forms and ethereal colors of the ocean.
The singular look of my jewelry is achieved using the intricate lost-wax casting technique, an experiential process that allows me to experiment when I am designing. This instinctive, hands-on approach is what gives each piece its individuality and sense of adventure. Whether a sleek, elevated essential or an all-out statement style, every collection infuses artisanal design with my creative spirit.
A deep respect for nature is at the foundation of my business. As a supporter of the Mercury-Free Mining Organization and a member of the Ethical Metalsmiths, every piece of my jewelry is made by hand in New York using recycled gold and responsibly sourced gemstones. I donate a portion of my sales to the California-based Heal the Bay foundation, a nonprofit close to my heart that strives to rejuvenate the coastline in Santa Monica.
